My Testimony

Some of the earliest memories I have stem from experiences I received in church.  My parents are both Christians and made participating in the local church a part of our life.  I’ve been involved in some kind of ministry for as long as I can remember, so it was a very natural decision for me to receive Christ as my personal Savior.  I can still remember the day, as a nine-year-old boy, walking down the aisle of that small mission church and taking brother Petre’s hand and telling him of my desire to receive Christ in my heart.  Even though I didn’t understand all that meant, I knew I wanted Jesus in my heart, and I wanted to go and live in heaven when I died.  Simple in experience, yet such a profound affect it has made on my life, as well as in my families lives.
When I was in high school, my earnest desire was to be involved in athletics, either as a player or coach.  During my senior year in high school, my dad took a job in California which moved my family in the middle of my senior year.  Having lost all my contacts for collegiate scholarships, I graduated early and seemed to just wander for the next couple of years.  During that period, I developed a friendship with our Minister of Education, Wes Hook.  Through our relationship, I began to sense God’s call in my life and shortly thereafter I committed my life to full-time ministry.
As I mentioned earlier, I received Christ at an early age, and even though I didn’t understand all that decision entailed, I knew Jesus lived  in my heart.  It wasn’t until I was about nineteen that I began to study His word and apply those teachings to my life.  The Holy Spirits’ leading and direction in my life has been profound, and as I look back on His prompting, I am confident of His plan and leading in my life.
